Sunday in the NBA brings a loaded slate, and with it, plenty of opportunities for daily fantasy players and prop bettors to find value. We’re looking at matchups that could get out of hand, along with a few tight contests perfect for stacking. Forget the big names for a second; sometimes the real money is made digging a little deeper into the role players benefiting from increased minutes or favorable defensive assignments.

Let's start with the Washington Wizards, who are still without Tyus Jones. That's big. Spencer Dinwiddie carved them up for 29 points and 11 assists just last week. Jordan Poole, despite his inconsistency, sees a significant usage bump. He dropped 31 points against the Lakers on December 17th when Jones was also out. Real talk, Poole is a dangerous play against a team that ranks dead last in opponent field goal percentage at 50.4%. He’s a high-variance guy, but the ceiling is sky-high, especially if the game stays competitive. My favorite play from this game, though, has to be Kyle Kuzma. He’s averaging 24.5 points and 6.8 rebounds over his last four games. The volume is there, and the matchup against the Raptors, who sometimes struggle with opposing forwards, feels right.

Then there's the Denver Nuggets traveling to Cleveland. Nikola Jokic is always in play, obviously. He's coming off a ridiculous 26-point, 18-rebound, 16-assist triple-double against the Celtics. But the Cavaliers' defense, even without Donovan Mitchell, is still top-tier. They allow the second-fewest points per game in the league at 106.3. Instead, I'm eyeing Michael Porter Jr. His scoring has been quietly consistent, hitting 20 points in three of his last five outings. If the Cavs focus too much on limiting Jokic, Porter could get clean looks from deep. Darius Garland for the Cavaliers is another strong consideration. He put up 27 points and 7 assists against the Timberwolves on Friday, and with Mitchell sidelined, Garland's usage skyrockets.

Here's the thing: everyone chases the high-total games, but sometimes the grind-it-out affairs offer more predictable outcomes for individual player performances. Take the Phoenix Suns and the Charlotte Hornets. The Suns are rolling, and the Hornets are… well, they're the Hornets. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are always good for 25+ points, but Charlotte's defense is porous, ranking 29th in defensive rating. This could be a blowout, which makes me a little hesitant on the Suns' stars for full DFS exposure, unless you're banking on them hitting their numbers early. Instead, I'd look at Miles Bridges for Charlotte. He’s been a consistent bright spot, averaging 21.4 points and 7.5 rebounds over his last ten games. He’ll get his numbers regardless of the outcome.

Look, my hot take for Sunday: Jalen Green, despite all the noise around him, goes for 30+ points against the Sacramento Kings. The Kings play at a high pace, and their defense can be exploited. Green dropped 29 points on them back in January. He's due for a ceiling game, and this is the spot.

My bold prediction for Sunday: The Orlando Magic upset the Indiana Pacers on the road, with Paolo Banchero logging his second triple-double of the season.
